Hello! This web project is intended to host my journey through the Great Books of the Western World collection.
I have kept a handwritten journal for about eight years. I chose this project three years ago when I noticed a pattern. My reading and entries centered around the Liberal Humanist tradition. This didn't surprise me at first. I went to a liberal arts college after all. But, a question needled me, "Why did I value this tradition?"
This question put me on a path to discover and question the Western Canon, and further develop and refine my thinking.
I chose this platform because I dislike social media. I dislike the expectation of endless content creation. I dislike constant commodification of our time and creative effort.
I want to write and create for others. For them to enjoy. For them to hopefully discover their own intellectual life.
